F.E.R.N stands for Floral Empathetic Rehabilitation Network. It is a multi-stage robotic plant that assists remote stroke rehabilitation patients through their rehabilitation program. By gamifying motor movements, it enhances the mood, emphasizes autonomy, and alleviates patients’ feelings of social redundancy. Each unit provides individualized care and exercises specifically programmed using the patient’s performance metrics, accessible in the health-companion dashboard. Using the UN SDGs as a guiding standard for social good, this product aims to "ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all ages", "reduce inequality within and among countries", and "ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns."
